MKES since its inception in 1942 has been contributing to society in the field of education. Having imbibed from our scriptures that “Knowledge Alone Liberates” we have been continuously evolving and currently our “Bhavishya Bharat Campus” consists of Schools, Junior College, Degree College and Law College offering education from K.G. to Doctoral Programmes in various streams.
The Malad Kandivli Education Society (M.K.E.S.) has been rendering valuable services in the field of education to the residents of Malad and Kandivli for the last 80 years. It started the N.L. High School in 1942. Thousands of students have gone out of its portals over these many years and hundreds of them today occupy important positions in industry, commerce and government offices and render valuable service to the society. Many others play important roles in different walks of life and further the cause of social upliftment. The M.K.E.S., there realized the dire need for a college in the Malad-Kandivli area. It, therefore, sought permission from Government and the University to start a college of Commerce and Arts. Though the Society received permission, in the last week of June - 1983; after the commencement of that Academic Year; it started a college with a commerce stream in the same year. The college started initially with an enrollment of 330 students. Later the college is named Nagindas Khandwala College of Commerce and Arts and it provides instruction to students for a three-year integrated B.Com. and B.A. Degree Courses.
Education is the heartthrob of any civilized society. In 1942, when India was still under colonial rule, the need for education became all the more crucial. Realizing this the visionaries of the Malad and Kandivli areas came together and established the Malad Kandivli Education Society. Harbouring the dream of providing high standard education, Malad Kandivli Education Society founded Sheth Nahalchand Laloochand High School in 1942-43.
Dedicated to the cause of education; the Malad Kandivli Education Society expanded its branches and established many new educational institutions. It has groomed many young minds into responsible citizens over these many years. Thousands of students have gone out of its portals and today occupy important positions in the Society. In its 60 years of existence, the society has achieved many milestones and one such significant milestone of the Society was the establishment of the College in July 1983.
